Amazon Fire HD 8

The Amazon fire HD 8 is very cheap when compared to Apple’s iPad, the amazon fire HD 8 is also for only $60 at amazon. It has the ability to issue Alexa voice commands even with your screen on standby. That is relatively faster and efficient as you can use Alexa to control the lights in your house or other appliances just by voice control. Its 8-inch screen is bright, the speakers are loud which means that you will be able to listen to it even if you are further away from it. It has parental controls that will allow parents to control what their children is doing on the tablet and stop it.

Everything has it’s disadvantages and so let us talk about them. It’s display is not that sharp like the Apple iPad so we may not be able to see the pictures on the tablet very sharply and will not be able to make out he small details. It takes about 6 hours to charge it fully, unlike the phones we have now that takes about 2 hours or lesser to charge fully. It is considered slow charging, so people who need cannot wait for so long should not buy it. In conclusion, you should buy this tablet as it is cheap though it has disadvantages as the price is definitely more attractive.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9

The Samsung Galaxy line established a reputation by launching the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 allows users to access two apps side by side and also the first to have a curved side. The $999 phone includes an S Pen which also doubles as a remote control which has Bluetooth connectivity so users can take selfies, give presentations and to skip music. The 4,000 mAh battery is the largest ever in an average Samsung smartphone. One of the more important functions of any smartphone, the camera. The camera of the Galaxy Note 9 can recognize up to 20 different types of scenes, from food to plants. The $999 smartphone is a 6GB model with 128GB of storage available. Last but not least, the Galaxy Note 9 uses a carbon fiber cooling system to prevent overheating and deliver sustained high performance.

However, the voice assistant on the Galaxy Note 9 is bordering on useless. The Bixby voice assistant lacks smart home integrations, and the ability to answer questions is at best. Also, even though the 4,000 mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is step-up from Note 8, the smartphone will not charge any faster since Samsung has been stuck with Quick Charge 2.0 speeds even when the rest of the world have moved on to faster charging fields. The Note 9 tend to capture brighter photos in low-light situations, so it will usually tend towards much longer exposures to receive more light, but that will make it difficult to capture a clear photo even with just a slight bit of movement. The Galaxy Note 9 is roughly $200 dollars more than an average smartphone and many are saying that it is not worth $200 more than an average smartphone with roughly similar functions.
In my opinion, Samsung should move on to faster charging fields as well as to focus on their camera capturing ability and the Bixby voice assistant which will increase the sales of their smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Review

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

If you’re looking to find a smartphone that is the best choice in terms of the best Android smartphone, then the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is something you should consider getting. Not only is it the fastest Galaxy smartphone Samsung has ever built, it is also the most feature-packed and the most refined.

The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is staggeringly good, with gorgeous colours and cavernous blacks. The One UI operating system, which is based on Android Pie, is better than anything from the likes of LG, Huawei or Sony. The One UI has been acknowledge that users would like big and massive screens on their smartphones, but massive screens are very annoying to use however especially using a single hand. To solve this issue, the new One UI shifts all the elements of the user interface that you’ll actually need to tap into the lower-third of the touchscreen where they are within easy reach. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has a 4,100mAh battery, which is larger than the Galaxy Note 9 in comparison. The smartphone is the only one capable of taking Live Focus selfies. These photos allow the pictures to have an adjustable and an artificial blur style to the background behind the subject.

In my personal opinion, I think that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is a good and decent buy considering the fact that it is sold at an affordable price.

Huawei Nova 3i Review

If someone is looking to find a wide-screen smartphone with a good and decent camera, the Huawei Nova 3i is a good buy. The front panel of the Huawei Nova 3i features the notch design at the top of the smartphone, with the earpiece embedded between the 24MP + 2MP cameras. The earpiece has two functions. Firstly, to serve as a normal earpiece and secondly, a battery charging indicator. The battery charging indicator earpiece will change in colours depicting the battery level.

The left side of the phone has a dual-SIM card slot while the right has the volume and power button. However, the Huawei Nova 3i does not support a Type-C charger. The dimensions of the smartphone is 157.6 mm × 75.2 mm × 7.6 mm while the weight of it is roughly 169 grams, with the battery included. The camera of the Huawei-Nova 3i has a 6.3 inch FHD + 2340 × 1080 display. The colours are not only sharp, but also has two colour modes to choose from. One of which is called Vivid while the other is Normal. Users may also customise the colour temperature to their preference or Default, Warm or Cold. Normal mode differs from Vivid mode such that it imparts a little less brightness than in Vivid and gives a with colour setting regardless of whether you have chosen the Warm temperature setting or not.

The battery of a Huawei Nova 3i takes 3.5 hours to charge from zero to hundred with its own charger. When charging, the smartphone heats up slightly. On a light usage, the battery will give backup for almost a full day and on moderate to heavy usage, the battery can last 8-9 hours.

As a mid-range model, the smartphone is definitely a balanced smartphone with premium functions and characteristics. In my opinion, the Huawei Nova 3i is a good buy if you are a light or moderate user but however if you are a heavy usage user, you might experience setbacks such as slow charging or battery drain during intensive gaming and multitasking. Overall, the functions of the Huawei Nova 3i is sufficient for any average user and is also within the 1k budget for a smartphone of a normal family household.

The OnePlus 6T has an In-display fingerprint scanner. Sadly OnePlus has removed the 3.5 mm headphone jack, but no worries, OnePlus will provide you one Type-C to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter in the box. Also the OnePlus 6T does not have an SD card slot, so you will be stuck with the storage that you buy.

The OnePlus 6T supports fast charging and the OS software does not uses up a lot of storage space which gives you more space to install games and take more photos or videos.

It has an Intelligent scene recognition feature which detects what is in the frame and tune the brightness, contrast, saturation, and more to help produce the ideal image. Nightscape technology helps to capture more details of the object you take in low-light places. Studio Lighting helps to
dynamically tone shadows and highlights on the object’s face, giving you stunning portraits.

OnePlus 6T overall is good, but the nightscape needs improvement on it. So if you are looking for a phone with premium design, fast charging, great battery life and performance, this might be the phone.

Flexpai

Flexpai is a device made by a company called Royole. Flexpai doubles as a hand phone and a tablet. The device has a hinge behind the phone. It is held together with a magnet. The company said that the device can last up to 200 000 folds which estimated to last for 6 years (If folds 90 times a day).

When the phone is not folded, the size is 7 by 8 inch. The smartphone has a AMOLED screen which makes it flexible. This device has full colour flexible display with 4:3 aspect ratio and 1920 by 1440 resolution.

There are 2 cameras. One camera is 20 megapixel telephoto lens and the other is 16 megapixel wide angled. The FlexPai runs on 2.8GHz octa-core Snapdragon chip. The device’s OS programme running is called Water which adjusts the screen orientations and viewing options. This device has a 3800- mAh battery. Even though other device has a higher mAh battery, using a Ro charger (USB type-C) can help charge rapidly faster. The device has either 6 or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage depending on buyer. It weighs 11.2 ounces. The Flexpai has Dual-SIM capacity and has a fingerprint sensor. The device is pixel density is 308ppi.

Flexpai has a 45% faster CPU and 20% faster GPU, powered by new architecture improvements and leading 7nm process technology. Smarter, faster and more secure experiences delivered by the 4th generation on-device AI engine. Upgradable to support 5G

Different people had different opinions on it. When the phone is folded, it is twice the size of a normal phone. However on the other hand, when it is in its tablet form, (where is unfolded, back of two phone side by side) it has bigger screen and it is quite slim. Many say that when the device is folded into a smartphone/tablet, it might detect some unintentional fingerprint. The design to others may not be to their liking. One of the cons is that it does not have a headphone jack.

As they are still improving, I think they should add a headphone jack and maybe when the device in phone mode, the screen that is not in use can be off or not be activated so that the device will not detect unintentional fingerprint.

XiaoMi Mi A2

The XiaoMi Mi A2 was released on July 2018 at S$369 for 4GB RAM and 64GB Storage in Singapore. It comes in Gold, Lake Blue, and Black.

The Mi A2 has a 5.99-inch 18:9 (2160 x 1080 pixels) LCD FHD+ display, weights 168g.

The Mi A2 has a rear AI dual camera setup, a 12MP SONY IMX486 sensor (large f/1.75 aperture), and a 20MP SONY IMX376 sensor (large f/1.75 aperture) which can take clear day and night pictures, plus a front-facing camera setup which features a 20MP SONY IMX376 (larger f/2.2 aperture).

It has a 3010 mAh battery, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE, running on Android One 8.1 instead of MIUI.

The Mi A2 has lost the headphone jack and also the microSD slot, therefore you will be stuck with the storage that you chose. The design of the Mi A2 does not look original. The battery life has only 3010 mAh battery which looks bad.

The Mi A2 runs on stock Android which is good, you can get faster updates, faster speed, no bloatware to eat up your storage, and has a clean design. You can take pleasing selfies using this AI-powered beauty 4.0 on the front camera, shoot a video at 4K 30fps and also a slow motion video at 720p 120fps.

The XiaoMi A2 overall looks fine, but the design and battery need to be improved on. If you are looking for a phone with good performance, faster updates and a camera which can take crispy photo, you might want to choose this XiaoMi Mi A2.

Motorola Moto G7

The Mortorola Moto G7 is a phone produced by the comapany Mortorola. It is sold at $300 each. It weighs at 176g and it’s dimensions are
157 x 75.3 x 8 mm (6.18 x 2.96 x 0.31 in). It’s rear camera is a
dual 12 + 5-megapixel  camera. The phone’s battery is 5,000mAh battery. The battery can last for about 14 hours when fully charged. The phone’s
curved sides give a pleasingly clean, well-made and attractive-looking to the handset, with an equally shiny colour-matched metal frame running around the edge.

It has a slick contemporary design, a dewdrop notch display.
The Motorola’s TurboPower fast-charging technology, will refill the Moto G7 via the in-box 15W adapter to almost 90 percent in under an hour, and charge the phone to a 100% just after over 90 minutes. The phone’s selling price at $300 is cheap when compared to other smart phones on the market. The phone has a good overall image quality and composition but the phone’s single speaker is merely serviceable, the phone’s general video quality isn’t fantastic too. The phone is not waterproof but it has a water repellent design to resist light showers and sprinkles but users using the phone should be careful of letting it touch any water.

In conclusion, you should buy this phone though it has some disadvantages as it is much more cheaper than other phones in the market.

Samsung Galaxy A80

Have you ever wished getting a phone just like the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10? Well even if you are not able to, fear not as I will introduce the Samsung Galaxy A80.

The phone has a 6.7-inch FHD and OLED display.48-megapixel front and rear camera. 25W Super Fast charging, in-display fingerprint and a rotating camera included together with a sliding mechanism.

This phone is truly an all-screen phone, there is nothing to disrupt your vision when you are binge watching your favorite show. Samsung also combined the slide up mechanism with the rotating camera system which will attract selfie lovers.

The disadvantage to it is its durability, whether it will still function after taking a drop on the hard surface and if the sliding mechanism fails, that could mean a lot of trouble for the user.

Given that it supports the newest sliding mechanism, the phone must be big and it might make things inconvenient if a phone is to bulky. It does include an octa-core processor paired together with an 8GB RAM and 128 GB storage. They also have an in-display fingerprint sensor inside the display. The Galaxy A80 also runs on a 3700mAh battery and it also supports fast charging via the type C usb port.

Some disadvantages to it is that there is no microSD expandable storage and the phone does not have that 3.5mm headphone jack. Since the phone supports the sliding mechanism there is not going to be any sign of water resistance.

In my opinion, I think that this phone is fantastic. Despite its cons against it, I am pretty sure that regardless there will be others out there who would want this phone as it is a budget form of the Samsung Galaxy S10.
