Standoff 2

The legendary “Standoff” is back in the form of a dynamic first-person shooter!
New maps, new types of weapons, new game modes are waiting for you in this incredible action game, where terrorists and special forces going to engage the battle not for life, but to death. This game, made with the same developers as “Standoff”, and the game “Standoff 2” is a mobile version of Counter Strike Global Offensive, a well loved multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Hidden Path Entertainment and Valve Corporation. Standoff 2 is about two teams against each other: the Terrorists and the Counter-Terrorists. Both sides are tasked with eliminating the other while also completing separate objectives, the Terrorists, depending on the game mode, must plant the bomb, while the Counter-Terrorists must either prevent the bomb from being planted, defuse the bomb. Defuse is a fast paced game mode with only 1 minute 30 seconds per round for terrorist to get to bomb sites or counter terrorist to defend the bomb sites, prevent bomb to be planted or defuse the bomb. If either of the teams eliminate the other, the eliminated team loses while the one alive would win the round. $800 will be given to each player at the first round and the currency will increase on whether you win or lose, you will need to use the currency to purchase guns.

Deathmatch is another game mode in Standoff 2 where you get any game you want and there are still 2 teams of counter terrorist and terrorist but this time you get to go wherever and kill the opponent. You will respawn every time you die. There is a timer of 10 minutes, with 1 kill points will be added to the scoreboard. By the end of 10 minutes, points will be compared between the players, top 3 players will be shown as “winners”. With stunning frames of more than 60 fps(frames per second), its runs with a sexy and smooth graphics.

With a control setting containing shooting/crouching/jumping/scoping layout settings like changing the x and y sensitivity and where the shoot button will be and sound, graphics settings that allows you to get comfortable with the game. Being a fast-paced fps, it test your reflexes and tactical skill. Example of knowing when to peek enemies, rotate to other bomb sites, faking plants/defuse with the bomb to bait out enemies and even prefiring the spots that are commonly used. All this requires game sense, or even Intelligence quotient to predict movements of enemy and counter them.

Overall i would say that Standoff 2 is a really good game to try out, it is not pay to win and can relax minds. Killing opponents might help you to relieve stress, being a fast pace game helps out with some of your boredom.

Dynamix

Dynamix is a hardcore mobile music rhythm game by C4Cat. Unlike most mobile music rhythm games where you have to tap lines or notes that travel downward on 3 or more lanes, Dynamix gives an addictive and unique touch. There are no lanes and lines or notes come from both sides of the screen which makes the game really challenging.

It has all the standard notes like notes that you need to tap, notes or bars that you need to tap and hold and notes where you need to slide your finger. In certain songs, there are 1 or 2 bars from the sides which you have that drag or pull to catch the red coloured notes.

Designed for beginners and experts, the game does not have a health bar so that beginners can finish the songs without losing, however you can enable this health option and a few others like changing the size of the notes if you buy the premium game that can be bought by ‘bits’. Buying the premium version allows you to exceed rank 22, which is the max for the freemium players, allowing you to unlock more songs. There is also a difficulty option, easy, medium and hard. There is also a Mega and Giga difficulty that can be unlocked in rank 20 that is absurdly hard, requiring you to use 3 to 4 fingers, maybe even more.

Having played the game, I would say that the songs are fantastic. There are in-app purchases in the game that allow you to buy 16 other songs that come in packs of 4. However, I feel that the songs are heavily overpriced at S$5.45 for each pack. There are other options such as buying in-game currency called ‘bits’ that allows you to buy double experience that lasts for 20 minutes which doubles the amount of experience points after you finish a song. Experience is needed to rank up and unlock new songs so buying the double XP would allow you to unlock more songs much faster for those who want a larger variety quicker.

You are ranked E, D, C, B, A, S, X/CHI, Y/PSI, Z/OMEGA, with E being the lowest and Z/OMEGA being all perfect and they are based on your score.

Overall, Dynamix is a great game that promises amazing gameplay and entertainment and if you are into music rhythm games, this game is built for you. C4Cat certainly did a great job in this game.
