Razer Phone 2

The Razer Phone 2 is a phone by Razer. It was released on 22 October 2018.

The Razer Phone 2 has 64 GB of storage. You can insert a micro SD card for an extra 1 TB of storage. The phone is 158.5 x 78.99 x 8.5. It runs on the operating system Android 8.1.

The phone has IP67 water resistance. This means that it is dust tight and the phone can be immersed 1 metre below the surface of the water for a short period of time.

The phone also has a Razer Chroma RGB logo. The colour can be customised to any colour.

The phone has 2 cameras, the front camera and the rear camera. The front camera can capture videos at 1080p. It is an f/2.0 lens with 8 megapixel camera. The rear camera can capture videos at up to 4K. It is an f/1.75 lens with 12 megapixel camera.

The display is 5.72 inches long. The resolution is 1440 x 2560. It has a 120 Hz refresh rate. Unlike the Razer Phone’s display, which uses the Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the Razer Phone 2 uses the Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The battery is a 4000 mAh lithium-ion battery. The phone has a wireless charging feature.

Should you buy it?

In my opinion, you should not buy it. The Razer Phone 2 is a gaming phone, however it does not have many special features that other gaming phones have. For example, the Asus ROG Phone has customisable pressure sensitive corners that allow you to open an application. The battery of the phone does not last very long compared to other phones.

However, if all you need is a phone with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the Razer Phone should be a suitable choice.

The Razer Phone is a new device released by a well known company called Razer. They have one of the best gaming computers in the known world. Many gamers from around the world all want to have their hands on any Razer device, even me. You probably be asking yourself, whats the difference of the Razer Phone and a normal typical phone ? Well, the main audience that the phone targets are teenagers, normally gamers. Once more, you’ll be asking yourself why should I get it even though other phones can run games ?

Well, the phone is specially made for gamers, with high end specs, smooth screen and powerful stereo speakers. Some people who are not gamers also got the phone. Why ? Its because of some new camera features inside the phone. For example, Razer added a 2x zoom to an app after downloading the new patch. Furthermore, Razer claims that the image sensor produces less noise in dark places and clearer and thus, clearer shadows. Best of all, Razer says that users would find that this device takes better photos than before.

With so much competition in the market, and companies offering great screens and a whole lot of power for gaming, the Razer Phone should have quite a number of people already getting the device as its made by a well-known company called Razer, for those who did not know.

This device has a 5.7 inch display which packs the world’s first 120Hz refresh on a smartphone. Not only that, it also has Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers which is located at both sides of the device in a rectangular shape. The Razer Phone is focused on two core elements which are the screen and sound. Because of the specs that the Razer Phone has, it has some strong advantages when it comes to visuals and audio and with plenty of power under the hood, it will easily beat other phones maybe, computers in terms of visuals and audio.

Currently, the Razer Phone sells at $700. Though the device is used more for gaming compared to taking photos, I still recommend this device to gamers out there in the world as this device would really put their gaming experience on a whole new level. Even though the Razer Phone is meant for gamers, it has some features which would please the non-gamers too.

I do recommend on getting the phone, even though its price is quite costly, I do believe that its worth getting it as there are more advantages compared to disadvantages. Personally, I would get this device as I find this not only convenient for gaming, but even more convenient to carry it around with you as the device is considered light.

Razer Hammerhead Pro V2

RAZER HAMMERHEAD PRO V2

Do you dislike using headphones for gaming or find them really uncomfortable? Then, the Razer Hammerhead Pro V2 might suit you if you’re the type that prefer earpieces.

The Hammerhead Pro V2 is an improved version of the previous Hammerhead Pro model sharing similar design features of its predecessor.

The Hammerhead comes with 2 variants, the Hammerhead Pro V2 with an in-line microphone and remote and Hammerhead V2 without the microphone and remote. I will be reviewing the Hammerhead Pro V2.

What’s inside?

When you first purchase a Hammerhead Pro V2, it comes with an audio jack adapter for older models of PCs that still use the 2 audio jacks so that you can utilize both microphone and use the earpieces at the same time.

It also comes with 3 pairs of different sized ear tips, small, medium and large. There is also a user manual that comes with it that tells you everything you need to know about the earpieces.

There is also case which contains the adapter and extra eartips that can be used to store your earpieces when bringing it out. It is quite durable and is quite compact so you will not have much trouble putting it in your bag or pocket.

 

 

 

 

 

Design

The first thing that stands out from the Hammerhead Pro V2 are the ear tips. Instead of the generic one tip, it has 2 tips instead, the smaller tip is connected to the bigger tip. If it scares you, you need not worry as it is actually quite comfortable to wear and you would hardly notice it there.

The only complaint i have so far is that when using the other ear tips, the metallic bit of the earpieces are quite annoying when it touches your ear though I have not faced that problem with the regular earpieces.

The wires are also flat which makes it much easier to fold and less likely to get tangled. This makes it much easier to bring it outside.

Audio Quality

The sound quality of the Hammerhead pro V2 is quite decent, though it is more bass over clarity, making it more suited towards bass heavy music like EDM (Electronic Dance Music). For gaming, it is quite immersive due to the background-noise cancelling and I had no incident where audio tearing happened or were sounds unclear.

Microphone

The Hammerhead Pro V2 comes with an in-line microphone and remote. The microphone quality is decent where people listening to me talk can hear me clearly with no issues. The remote is able to control the volume output of the earpieces which can be useful when outside.

An issue though, whenever the microphone hits against the fabric of your shirt, the person listening to you will be able to hear the ‘thud’ sound. But it is not a major problem.

Conclusion

In conclusion, The Hammerhead Pro V2 is a mid tier in-ear headphones that is decent for playing games however there are probably better options out there.

In general it is not a bad earpiece, it just lacks the bang for the buck as it’s pricing is around S$120 at retail price. If you’re interested in listening to music or you’re more of a casual gamer, this earpiece might be for you.

The SteelSeries Rival 300 CS:GO Fade Edition is overall, a beautiful looking mouse which comes with great sensor performance. However, it is not suitable for left-handers and there a cheaper version of this mouse which offers the same functions and quality.

The SteelSeries Rival 300 is a Counter Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) variation of the Rival 300. The Rival 300 CS:GO Fade mouse can be purchased for €79.99 EUR on the SteelSeries website. Whereas the Rival 300 will only cost you €59.99 EUR on the SteelSeries website. Therefore you would be paying slightly more for a aesthetically pleasing mouse.

The Rival 300 CS:GO Fade Edition comes with the mouse, and a set of manuals which gives you instruction on how to go online in order to download drivers. The build quality of the mouse is generally top notch. The USB of the mouse is silver-plated, the shine on it adds a pretty nice touch to it. However, I would have preferred a gold-plated USB as it would give the mouse a generally more expensive and would fit the fade theme of the mouse. Moving to the mouse alone, it has a Fade design which is pleasing to the eye. The gold/yellows at the tip of the mouse slowly fades into a purplish hue at the palm at the mouse. There are close to no mouse with colours similar to this mouse and this is what really what sets it apart from other mouses. If accompanied with a mouse pad with a Fade pattern results in a beautiful set up on your desk.

At the palm of the mouse there is a Counter-Terrorist logo and below it, the mouse is surrounded by a rubber texture with the writing CS:GO on it. The rubber material gets pretty useful if your palms are sweaty, knees weak arms are heavy. On the left-hand side of the mouse, there are two buttons which are customizable. There is another button as well on the top of the mouse which can be customized. The scroll wheel has a comfortable feel to it. The left/right mouse buttons are not too loud therefore it’s perfect for late night gaming.

The Rival 300 CS:GO Fade Edition offers a really comfortable hold for endless hours of gaming. It uses the PixArt PMW3310 which can be found in the Rival 300 as well. The sensor works pretty well allowing you to have precise control of the mouse.

Overall, I feel that the Rival 300 CS:GO Fade Edition is worth it for it’s price due to it’s aesthetics, performance and comfort. It is really a different mouse in terms of design when compared to other mouses therefore if you are looking for a beautiful looking mouse that does not compromise when it comes to performance, this mouse would suit you.

Razer DeathAdder Chroma

The Razer DeathAdder Chroma offers comfortable usage to ensure endless hours of gaming. The DeathAdder comes with five buttons, the usual left, right and middle mouse as well as two buttons under the thumb. It cost around USD $69.99 which is a good price for a mouse of this quality.

The DeathAdder comes with a 10,000 DPI sensor and 1000 Hz polling. Therefore if you’re looking for a gaming mouse just to play video games casually, the DeathAdder is a good option. As it is really comfortable to use its design is simple yet it feels like an extension to your arm and feels really comfortable. The left and right mouse button and perfect, they are large and allows extra space for your finger to move around. The scroll wheel is huge and really smooth to use. There is also a LED light at the back of the mouse which just makes this sleek looking mouse even better. Therefore if you are looking for a mouse that is good looking the DeathAdder could be a mouse that you might want to consider.

Overall, the Razer DeathAdder Chroma is a great mouse for all kinds of players. People who love using the DeathAdder range from casual gamers to professional video gamers. Therefore if you are looking for a good quality, comfortable mouse which is not too expensive the Razer DeathAdder Chroma is perfect for you.

Razer Blade Stealth

The Razer Blade Stealth is a laptop that is just great at all aspects. It is slimmer and lighter than most of other similar laptops. It runs on an i7 and it even offers a cool looking Chroma backlit keyboard. But battery life cut due to the 4k screen but it should not be much of a problem if you don’t game much outside. It offers something that not much laptops offer which is a mix of sleek design, great performance and value in a laptop. However, the perfect looking 4k screen gives it’s battery life a major blow.

The design of the Razer Blade Stealth is perfect. It offers a sleek beautiful design which just looks great. It gives the laptop a really professional feel.

The Razer Blade Stealth offers a Chroma backlit keyboard which just fits the laptop perfectly. It is only for aesthetic purposes it may use more of the battery but it does not really use that much.

It has an eye catching 13-inch 3,840 x 2,160 touchscreen display. It offers a 2.5Ghz Intel Core i7-6500U PC CPU. And it runs on a Windows 10 Home (64-bit) operating system. All for the price tag of $1,399

Overall, if you’re looking for a laptop, this is the best laptop you can buy at the price range of $1,399. It offers a good design, good performance and good price therefore the best option for you.

Razer Blade 14

The Razer Blade 14 is another one of Razer’s gaming laptops. This laptop has made some huge improvement compared to some of the previous gaming laptops they have made. This laptop has a upgraded Nvidia graphics and hugely improved IGXO 3,200×1,800-pixel-resolution touch display.

The Razer Blade 14 has a price tag of $2,399 and it has a 14-inch, 3,200×1,800 screen. It has a 2.2GHz Intel Core i7-4702HQ. And it has a PC memory of 8GB 1,600MHZ DDR3 SDRAM. It uses a 3GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 870M for it’s graphics. It has 256GB of storage. It does not have a optical drive. As for networking it uses Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac wireless, Bluetooth 4.0. It’s operating system is a Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

It is 0.7 inch thick and weighs 4.47 pounds and can easily be placed in a bag allowing you to carrying the laptop to wherever you want. The keyboard and touchpad are great, welly placed and responsive. But for gaming you would most probably use a external mouse instead of the touchpad. It also allows you to go on social media and use it like a smartphone thanks to it’s touchscreen. It has glowing green keys which makes the laptop look even more flashy. It also has a Razer logo that glows from the back lid which makes the laptop look very good.

One of the best few features of this laptop is it’s new IGXO 3,200×1,800 display. It is such a great feature as it has such a high resolution screen together with touchscreen function. The new display is glass-covered, brighter, and very vivid, it has wonderful viewing angles, and it is a multitouch.

Games aren’t really meant to be played at such a high resolution though. Steam’s main UI seemed to be downscaling to lower-res. But, as for everyday usage, extra pixels are always good.

But sometimes after playing a game for half and hours causes the bottom of the laptop to get really hot. The battery life also drop quickly. It has around a 90 minute battery life when you play BioShock Infinite at medium graphics setting. Like all other Razer laptops, this laptop is also Razer Synapse 2.0-enabled, too, which saves game setting for the keyboards and peripherals in the cloud and allows deeper customization.

There are three USB 3.0 ports on the edge of this laptop, along with HDMI. It has Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.22ac Wi-Fi and a 2MP Web camera and a microphone which are slightly better than those in average laptops.

The Blade has around 4 hours, 20 minutes of battery life. As when playing games at different settings on battery power will result in between 60 minutes to 90 minutes of life.

So overall, in my opinion I think that this gaming laptop may have a few weaknesses but they are not very major and I think that the good points of this gaming laptop covers it. I think that this laptop is able to be carried around easily. The high res screen of this laptop and the high speed causes it to have a lower battery life but I think that it is worth sacrificing the battery life of this to have a better quality screen and performance of the laptop. So in conclusion, I think that this laptop is worth it to buy if you have the money, you are into gaming and travel frequently but just be sure to bring your charger due to the low battery life of this product.

The Razer BlackShark is one of the many headsets that the established gaming peripheral giant, Razer has released. The Razer Blackshark’s aesthetics were modelled after real-life military headsets and has padded and insulated earcups made out of memory foam.

Its mic has 3 separate degrees of rotation and can be adjusted so as to suit the user of the headset. The microphone itself is also detachable and can be used as a boom mic. Many reviewers have praised its look, calling it ‘stylish’ and ‘modern’ and that it is one of the most unique headsets Razer has released.

Furthermore, its cables can be swapped to accommodate both the console gamer and the PC gamer, thanks to its handy audio-microphone splitter. While its looks and aesthetics are definitely breathtaking, the comfort, audio quality and mic quality it offers are rather mediocre for its price but it is a small price as the headset itself is built with reinforced stainless steel, giving its bands a durability far higher than those of competing brands.

In conclusion, this Razer headset, while stylish, is rather mediocre for its price range and as such if you really desire the best of the best, I would advise against buying the Razer BlackShark and instead take a look at the Razer Tiamat, another headset that offers 7.1 surround sound and improved mic quality.
