Samsung Galaxy Note 9

The Samsung Galaxy line established a reputation by launching the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 9. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 allows users to access two apps side by side and also the first to have a curved side. The $999 phone includes an S Pen which also doubles as a remote control which has Bluetooth connectivity so users can take selfies, give presentations and to skip music. The 4,000 mAh battery is the largest ever in an average Samsung smartphone. One of the more important functions of any smartphone, the camera. The camera of the Galaxy Note 9 can recognize up to 20 different types of scenes, from food to plants. The $999 smartphone is a 6GB model with 128GB of storage available. Last but not least, the Galaxy Note 9 uses a carbon fiber cooling system to prevent overheating and deliver sustained high performance.

However, the voice assistant on the Galaxy Note 9 is bordering on useless. The Bixby voice assistant lacks smart home integrations, and the ability to answer questions is at best. Also, even though the 4,000 mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is step-up from Note 8, the smartphone will not charge any faster since Samsung has been stuck with Quick Charge 2.0 speeds even when the rest of the world have moved on to faster charging fields. The Note 9 tend to capture brighter photos in low-light situations, so it will usually tend towards much longer exposures to receive more light, but that will make it difficult to capture a clear photo even with just a slight bit of movement. The Galaxy Note 9 is roughly $200 dollars more than an average smartphone and many are saying that it is not worth $200 more than an average smartphone with roughly similar functions.
In my opinion, Samsung should move on to faster charging fields as well as to focus on their camera capturing ability and the Bixby voice assistant which will increase the sales of their smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Review

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

If you’re looking to find a smartphone that is the best choice in terms of the best Android smartphone, then the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is something you should consider getting. Not only is it the fastest Galaxy smartphone Samsung has ever built, it is also the most feature-packed and the most refined.

The screen of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is staggeringly good, with gorgeous colours and cavernous blacks. The One UI operating system, which is based on Android Pie, is better than anything from the likes of LG, Huawei or Sony. The One UI has been acknowledge that users would like big and massive screens on their smartphones, but massive screens are very annoying to use however especially using a single hand. To solve this issue, the new One UI shifts all the elements of the user interface that you’ll actually need to tap into the lower-third of the touchscreen where they are within easy reach. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has a 4,100mAh battery, which is larger than the Galaxy Note 9 in comparison. The smartphone is the only one capable of taking Live Focus selfies. These photos allow the pictures to have an adjustable and an artificial blur style to the background behind the subject.

In my personal opinion, I think that the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is a good and decent buy considering the fact that it is sold at an affordable price.

Size and Features of the Fold

The Samsung Galaxy’s cover display is a 4.6-inch HD and Super AMOLED Display (ratio of 21:9) while the main display is 7.3-inch QXGA and dynamic AMOLED Displayed (ratio of4:2:3), both including the rounded corners and upper cutout. The OLED display work similar as the existing Samsung handsets. When is flat out, it is almost two times the size than the phone size, having around 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display allowing a bigger screen when playing games, watching movies and such. When it is the main display, it is engineered to reduce the harmful blue light without using filters to keep the colours true while lessening eye strain.

This device has a feature that is called multi active window. This feature is available because instead of using TouchWiz, they are using One UI. With this feature, the Samsung Galaxy can run up to three applications side-by-side. When switching views from the cover display to the larger tablet device display, the app you running will remain the same state where you left off. Apps such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Youtube and Microsoft Office would be optimised to suit the new square-ish.

The aspects of the Fold

The Fold will feature a 7nm 64-bit Octa-core processor and 12 GB of RAM. There’s 512GB of built-in storage. This device has no in-screen fingerprint reader but is on the side of the device. Samsung Galaxy A80

Have you ever wished getting a phone just like the brand new Samsung Galaxy S10? Well even if you are not able to, fear not as I will introduce the Samsung Galaxy A80.

The phone has a 6.7-inch FHD and OLED display.48-megapixel front and rear camera. 25W Super Fast charging, in-display fingerprint and a rotating camera included together with a sliding mechanism.

This phone is truly an all-screen phone, there is nothing to disrupt your vision when you are binge watching your favorite show. Samsung also combined the slide up mechanism with the rotating camera system which will attract selfie lovers.

The disadvantage to it is its durability, whether it will still function after taking a drop on the hard surface and if the sliding mechanism fails, that could mean a lot of trouble for the user.

Given that it supports the newest sliding mechanism, the phone must be big and it might make things inconvenient if a phone is to bulky. It does include an octa-core processor paired together with an 8GB RAM and 128 GB storage. They also have an in-display fingerprint sensor inside the display. The Galaxy A80 also runs on a 3700mAh battery and it also supports fast charging via the type C usb port.

Some disadvantages to it is that there is no microSD expandable storage and the phone does not have that 3.5mm headphone jack. Since the phone supports the sliding mechanism there is not going to be any sign of water resistance.

In my opinion, I think that this phone is fantastic. Despite its cons against it, I am pretty sure that regardless there will be others out there who would want this phone as it is a budget form of the Samsung Galaxy S10.

Galaxy Buds

The Galaxy Buds, one of the newest wireless headphones in the market. The Galaxy Buds is also the reply Samsung has to Apple’s Airpods. This reply from Samsung is as usual a pretty impressive one, as of how the Buds, though being almost the same as Apple’s Airpods, still cheaper than the Airpods which some people would say to be expected. Not just does the Buds win the Airpods by its pricing but also by its weight and also some features that the Airpods lack.

The Galaxy Buds is a lightweight and compact headphones, that can stay in your ear securely and comfortably which to me is a big thumbs up for its price. It also has a pretty long lasting battery that can last up till 6 hours per day. Not just that, but its wireless charging case is also pretty small which allows you to fit it inside any compartment you would want it to be. The wireless charging case can also be charged using a USB-C or wirelessly on any Qi-enabled wireless charging pad or the back of one of Samsung’s new Galaxy S10 models, which have a new feature called PowerShare.

Powershare would be able to charge up the wireless charging case in 2 hours. With full battery, the case will be able to charge the buds 1 to 2 times for it to last 6 hours per charge. To me, that is already sufficient as how i will only use it when out which can go up to 12 hours and through that 12 hours, i will have my buds together with me working. It’s pretty great, right? But, though awesome and all the bass does not sound all that great. Though it’s already pretty decent, i would prefer the Airpods to the Buds.

But for some other people whose ears would not fit well with the Airpods, they would much prefer the Galaxy Buds to the Airpods, as i got to admit, with the in-ear bud that the Galaxy Buds has they can reduce noise from the outside world, giving you a better and clearer sound in that environment than the Airpods. The Galaxy Buds can also be better for people to make calls as of their mics which are certainly better than the Airpods’ ones.

Overall, i would say that if you are an Android user, you should definitely go for the Galaxy Buds, but for the Apple Users you can choose either of the two as they are both equally great. For people who thinks that Airpods cannot fit into their ears you can get the Buds as they are much more comfortable and secure in your ear.

SAMSUNG GALAXY S10+

https://www.notebookcheck.net/fileadmin/processed/3/5/csm_Samsung_Galaxy_S10_Plus_5594_5bd9b9c7be.jpg

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is currently the latest Samsung model and people love it. It has an ultra clear AMOLED display and an on-screen fingerprint sensor. It has a 6.1 inch display which is a relatively large screen, suitable for the elderly who has difficulties scrutinizing at such small words. Besides being elderly friendly, it is also recognized for its slim and sleek design which fits nicely into your pocket.

There are also currently three models; the S10, the S10e and the S10+. I would say that the S10+ and the S10 are the better ones. But of course, if you can afford it, i recommend you buy the S10+ as it is the most advanced and popular model.

We all know that the two most famous phone brands are Apple and Samsung. Believe me, you can go on a train and just take a look at your surroundings and you will notice that majority of the people use Apple and Samsung compared to for example: Huawei or Xiaomi. Samsung held this strong reputation for many years and yet it is still evolving as time goes by.

https://cdn1.techadvisor.co.uk/cmsdata/reviews/3685456/xiaomi_mi_8_vs_huawei_mate_20_thumb1200_4-3.jpg

I would say that though Samsung phones are not that cheap, you will find that what you had paid for after leaving any Samsung shop is worth buying. Not only are they long lasting and durable, but it is also easier to find handphone covers and accessories for Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S10

The new Samsung Galaxy S10 was released on Friday, 8 March 2019 for $1,298. It comes with Prism Black, Prism White, and Prism Green.

It has a triple camera setup that consists of a 16-megapixel (Ultra wide-angle), a 12-megapixel (Wide-angle), and a 12-megapixel (Telephoto), a 10-megapixel selfie camera.

The Galaxy S10 has the 3.5mm headphone jack with a Type-C USB charging port, an In-display fingerprint scanner, and is water-resistance (IP68).

The bad things about this Galaxy S10 is the face unlock feature which is not secure and can be tricked by using a video of the owner. Samsung recommends to use the new in-display fingerprint scanner for stronger security. The price of this Galaxy S10 is expensive and there is still a Bixby button.

The good things is it has a new Wireless PowerShare which can charge other devices that support wireless charging by laying the Galaxy S10 on its face and then place a device back-to-back against the Galaxy S10. The harmful blue light has been reduced by 42% on this Galaxy S10 but the colour of the screen is still crispy. Reducing harmful blue light helps to reduce eye strain for a better night sleep.

The Galaxy S10 has the next level intelligence that will study your habits to blend seamlessly into your day. Intelligent Performance Enhancer will study your habits, enhancing the way you use your phone, and will run the apps that you have been using usually in the background so that they will launch immediately.

Looking for a phone with a great performance, a good display and lesser harmful blue light emitted? You might want to choose this Samsung Galaxy S10.

Samsung Galaxy A50

The New Samsung Galaxy A50 was released on 2 March 2019 for Rs 19,990 (S$388). It is available in Black, White, and Blue colours.

The Galaxy A50 features a 6.4-inch (1080 x 2340 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with full-HD+ resolution, with an In-display Fingerprint scanner, 4 or 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The triple camera setup consists of a 25MP primary sensor f/1.7, a 5MP sensor f/2.2 and an 8MP wide-angle sensor f/2.2, a 25MP selfie camera f/2.0 which is located inside the U-shaped notch.

The Galaxy A50 has a big 4000mAh battery which supports fast charging, powered by octa-core Exynos 9610 processor. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie with the new Samsung OneUI.

Samsung’s new OneUI looks very different from last time, the new interface has been simplified, new icons, better reachability to get to what you want. It also has a Night Mode which turns your phone screen darker.

The Galaxy A50 has an In-display fingerprint scanner which is also found on the Galaxy S10 but this Galaxy A50 fingerprint scanner is Optical and not Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. It also has the 3.5mm headphone jack with a Type-C USB charging port.

The bad things about this Galaxy A50 is not having an Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. But the price might be sold higher if it has this feature.

The good things is it has a fast charging support, a good display, a big battery which can last the whole day, supports Dolby Atmos which can enhance the sound, and is water-resistant.

If you are looking for a good display, and a phone with In-display fingerprint scanner that can unlock your phone faster, you might want to choose this Samsung Galaxy A50.

Samsung Galaxy J4+

The Samsung Galaxy J4+ was released on 3 November 2018 for S$248. It is available in Black, Gold, and Pink*.

The Galaxy J4+has the same display size and resolution as the Galaxy J6+, a 6-inch infinity display, 1480 x 720 pixels, with HD+ resolution. It has 3GB RAM and 32GB Storage. Also this Galaxy J4+ display is not an AMOLED screen.

The Galaxy J4+ features a single 13-megapixel (f/1.9) rear camera, and a 5-megapixel (f/2.2) selfie camera. Both rear and front has the LED flash.

It has a 3300 mAh battery and is powered by Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425, running on Android Oreo 8.1. The Galaxy J4+ will get the Android Pie 9.0 update during May this year.

The Galaxy J4+ has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and the 3.5mm headphone jack with a Micro USB charging port.

The bad things about this Galaxy J4+ is having a weak processor, bland design, and looks the same as other phones. Example, the Galaxy J6+ looks almost the same as this Galaxy J4+, but the Galaxy J6+ has a dual camera setup. This Snapdragon 425 processor is not good at handling extreme gaming and resource-intensive usage, so this phone is not recommended for gamer.

The good things is it has a good camera, a big screen to enjoy with, and it supports Dolby Atmos which can enhance the sound. This Galaxy J4+ performs fairly in low light conditions, but at least it has the AR stickers and filters feature.

Is it worth buying this Galaxy J4+? Well, I think it is not worth buying it but if you like having a phone with a big screen with good user interface, a camera that performs well and have Dolby Atmos support, you might want to consider buying this Galaxy J4+.

*Pink is not available in Singapore.
