The laptop can smudge fingerprints very easily. Doing a simple action such as holding the side of the laptop will leave fingerprints on the laptop.

The USB-C 3.1 port is not a Thunderbolt 3 port. A Thunderbolt 3 port can transfer data faster than a USB-C 3.1 port.

Should you buy it?

Although the Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN is not very cheap, but it can run most applications well. If you would like a new laptop for school or work and occasionally play games on it, consider purchasing the Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN.

Alienware m15

The Alienware m15 is a laptop by Alienware which is a subsidiary of Dell. It runs on the operating system Windows 10 Home (64-bit). Starting at $1,379.99, the gaming laptop comes in 8 different configurations. All 8 configurations of the laptop have a 15.6 inch FHD screen. It comes in 2 different colours, Epic Silver and Nebula Red.

This laptop weighs 2.16 kilograms. The height at the front is 17.9 mm while the height at the back is 21 mm. The width is 363 mm while the depth is 275 mm. It is 20% lighter and 5% thinner compared to another Alienware product, the Alienware 13.

Depending on the configuration you chose, the display can be either 1920 x 1080 pixels or 3840 x 2160 pixels.

The graphics cards can either be Nvidia GTX or Nvidia RTX.

The laptop has the Alienware Command Center software which allows you to control the backlight of the laptop’s keyboard.

Advantages

Even though it is considered as a gaming laptop, it is rather slim.

Disadvantages

It does not have a UHD display. Most gaming laptops and gaming desktops do have a UHD or 4K display for enhanced gaming. Although there is a configuration with a display that has a refresh rate of 144Hz, 144 frames per second is enough but the monitor might not be clear enough.

Should you buy it?

If you are looking for a computer for school or work, I would not recommend you to buy this laptop since it is very expensive.

However, if you play games very often at home, you might want to consider purchasing a gaming desktop instead of a gaming laptop.

If you play games often while not at home, and you don’t mind a laptop not having an UHD display, you might want to consider purchasing the Alienware m15.

Asus ZenBook S UX391UA

The Asus ZenBook S UX391UA is a laptop by Asus. There are 3 different versions of the laptop, the UX391UA-EA016T, UX391UA-ET012T, UX391UA-ET084T. All 3 versions has a solid state drive. The most expensive version, the UX391UA-EA016T, has a 4K UHD IPS Touch Display, 16 GB of RAM, has 1 TB of SSD space and runs on an Intel Core i7-8550U processor. The laptop was released in 2018. It runs on the operating system Microsoft Windows 10 Professional (64-bit). It comes in 2 colours: Deep Dive Blue, and Burgundy Red.

The display is 13.3 inches wide. It is a 3840 x 2160 UHD display and has a 331 ppi pixel density. It weighs about 1 kilogram.

Advantages

The ErgoLift hinge lifts the keyboard to a comfortable typing position. It also improves the cooling of the laptop.

The laptop has Amazon Alexa. With your voice, you can ask Alexa to do basic tasks such as playing music or setting a reminder.

In less than an hour, the USB-C cable can charge the laptop up to 60%.

The laptop meets the MIL-STD 810G military standard for durability and reliability.

Disadvantages

The battery life lasts more than 8 hours. Although it will not be long enough to last the whole day, I personally feel 8 hours is more than enough to do basic things such as typing a document.

Should you buy it?

In my opinion, there are many other laptops such as the Asus Zenbook 13 and the Dell XPS 13 that has similar features. I would not recommend this laptop since there are better options.

Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701

The new Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX701 was unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show 2019 by Asus. There are 3 different versions of the gaming laptop, the ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GX), ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GW), and the ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GV). It starts from $3198.

Differences between the 3 versions

The ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GX) has better graphics than the ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GV) and the ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GW).

The ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GX) and the ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GW) can store more memory than the ROG Zephyrus S (GX701GV).

The laptops weighs 2.7 kg, and uses an Intel® Core™ i7-8750H processor. The width of the laptop is 39.9 cm while the diameter of the laptop is 27.2 cm. The laptop is 1.87 cm tall. The display is 17.3-inch Full HD (1920×1080), and has a 144Hz refresh rate. They use Nvidia’s new graphics card, the GeForce RTX series graphics card, which has ray tracing, and Deep Learning Super Sampling, which uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to render clear images. It is approximately 2 times faster than older GPUs that use conventional anti-aliasing techniques.

Unlike many other laptops, the touchpad is at the right of the keyboard, and not below the keyboard. The touchpad has a portrait-style orientation, which might be hard for many laptop users that use a normal touchpad. It will take them a while to get used to the touchpad of the Zephyrus.

Should you buy it?

If you currently have an old laptop that cannot run games well, and need a new laptop, I would recommend that you buy this laptop since it has the GeForce RTX graphic cards. However, if you have a low budget, I would not recommend you to buy this laptop since this laptop might be expensive to laptop users with a low budget.

Acer Swift 7 (2018)

The Acer Swift 7 (2018) is a laptop by Acer. Starting at $1699, the slim laptop has an Intel Core i7, and has 8 GB of RAM. It comes in only one colour, black. The weight of the laptop is approximately 1.18 kilograms. The operating system is Windows 10 Home 64-bit Edition.

The screen is 14 inches long, and the resolution is 1920 x 1080. The laptop has 2 USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 ports.

Advantages:

It is only 8.98 mm thick. You can fit the laptop into a bag easily, without having to worry about the bag not being able to fit in. The laptop battery is rather good and can last more than nine hours before it runs out of energy. It has a fingerprint scanner for easy unlock and security.

The laptop also has a 4G wireless broadband and you can insert a nano SIM card. If you use your laptop frequently, outside of home, getting a data plan for your laptop is a good idea.

Disadvantages:

The laptop has no optical drive and the touch pad of the laptop cannot be clicked. If you want to click, you need to tap the touch pad. The webcam of the laptop is below the screen, and not in front of your face.

Should you buy it?

The price can be rather expensive to some users. The computer has a slower and older processor compared to other slim laptops like the Dell XPS 13. If you would like to use a laptop for checking your email while you are not at your office or your home, the Acer Swift 7 is a good choice since the battery would be able to last rather long.

Acer Spin 5

The Acer Spin 5 is an excellent laptop for its price. Starting at $700, the convertible 2-in-1 notebook overflows with useful features including a modern build, stylus pen, HD touchscreen, long-lasting battery and healthy range of ports.

Image result for Acer Spin 5

For everything that it offers, if it were any cheaper, it would be a no-brainer. As is, it is a great option for anyone interested in a solid middle-of-the-road laptop, but it’s also not likely to catch anyone’s eye or inspire great works of creativity. The new Acer Spin 5 models comes in 13- and 15-inch versions. New features include its all-metal build, the latest 8th-gen Intel Core processors, a sharper screen, improved stylus support and better keyboard.

Having an installed space of 8GB, even though it is pretty less, it is actually worth it for just $700 and it even have the latest window Windows 10 Home and a capacity of 256GB. It has a built-in HD webcam, fingerprint sensor and microphone and, in terms of connectivity, it boasts Bluetooth and WiFi- connectivity (802.11ac). Want to know why you should consider buying the Acer Spin 5? It is well built and decently looking; good keyboard once you get used to it; excellent trackpad; decent screen if you keep it indoors; solid performance; long battery life; more affordable than the competition

On the contrary, it is a little heavy and have a shallow keyboard. Screen that is too dimmed and has only a microSD card-reader. For people who like peaceful surroundings, it has noisy fan and high operating temperatures on this test model

Why do you still buy it?

If you are looking for a Core U laptop with a compact case, convertible form-factor and an affordable price, then you absolutely have to check-out the Acer Spin 5, a device that is already available in stores and sells for $700 The Spin 5 is not without flaws, among them being a dim screen that is not going to do well outdoors and an moody fan, but it is also well built, performs well, types alright and packs a large battery, so the value you are getting for the buck is almost unbeatable by other convertibles available out there at the time of this post, a recipe Acer also follows with the Swift 3 we reviewed a couple of weeks ago.

Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1(2nd Generation)

Do you think that your computer needs to be repair most of the time ? Do you have the feeling that your current computer is too old to use ? Well, if you have these thoughts stuck in your head. Then, you could use this new laptop called the, Lenovo’s ThinkPad.

The Lenovo ThinkPad is the latest model of the high-end two in-one hybrid. This is an improved version of the previous model, the Lenovo ThinkPad. They have similar looks but I guarantee you that the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is much better. Not only, does it have a high-end two in-one hybrid, it also has a seventh-gen Intel processors and it also comes with a Wireless WAN connectivity. Other than that, it basically has the same design, features and add on modules as the previous model.

This second generation of the ThinkPad X1 Tablet, also contained various uses for processors, memory and storage options.

According to Lenovo, they said that it should be available on the web in UK soon and they also hope that it would available in Australia by the end of the month. But they will update it with an official international pricing whenever available.

People will ask what is the difference of the two models ? Why did Lenovo have to create a new model when they already have a very successful one ?

I will answer to that. Its because the Lenovo ThinkPad is already well-regarded to business users, but they thought that business users could use an even better device to help them on the way. The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 is a portable, productivity-geared Microsoft Surface-like device. Which makes it very impressive and attractive for users like business workers to buy this product.

Honestly, I would keep this decision in my head as I would really could use a new computer. I would save my money and buy a better computer better than the one that I am currently using now. Even though, they have not launched it for sale, I’m sure that this is one computer that I am gonna keep it mind in case I can buy a new one.

Dell Inspiron 15 7000

This laptop can play pretty much any PC game you want without spending tons of money on the device. However,It is thick and heavy and has a mediocre battery life. It is a cheap yet has great performance. It works well on games like Fallout 4 and Bloons TD 5 quite well.

However games that require a better processor to play needs to be set to low graphics in order to have a smooth gameplay. I like to think of this is more of a gaming laptop.

The keyboard is responsive despite being shallow but the touchpad does not perform well but most people will use a mouse for gaming anyway so it does not matter. And as I said the battery life is not very good so avoid long periods of constant gaming. The screen does not reflect much light so you will not have any distractions when gaming.

It has a hybrid hard drive which can slow application and game load time But for $850(For better speed),I doubt anyone can find a better gaming laptop than this.

I would purchase this laptop for gaming due to its price and performance and I would also definitely recommend it to friends. Its only has a few shortcomings like its battery life. I do not think battery life is a significant problem unless the laptop need to be frequently moved around.

Lenovo LaVie Z

This is an extremely lightweight laptop and it is made from a magnesium/lithium alloy, much lighter than the aluminium that makes up most premium laptop bodies. It weighs approximately 1.9 pound (0.86kg) and is 13 inches.

It has a Core i7. The Core i7 is paired with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD at $1,499 in the US .That’s a premium price but only $200 more than Apple’s lauded 12-inch MacBook . Yet the LaVie is lighter than the MacBook at 1.9 pounds versus 2.04 pounds (0.86kg to 0.93kg), and it has a larger screen and a much more powerful processor plus most of the standard ports and connections missing from the USB-C-only MacBook. It has good performance and battery life and is also one of the lightest laptops but it has a small keyboard.

Overall I think it is worth its price as it is a portable computer and it has good battery life too . It is good for people who work in an office and needs the laptop to be carried along with them wherever they go .However it is expensive and purchasers should think through thoroughly before they purchase this item.

Dell XPS 15

The Dell XPS 15 is a beautiful outstanding laptop with a 15 inch 4k display. It has a great processor and offers wonderful graphic options. All in a sleek and beautiful body. But the keyboard could be bigger and offer a more comfortable typing experience. And the touchpad could generally be improved. Well there is no doubt that the Dell XPS 15 is a laptop that really makes you feel proud when you own it.

One of the reason that the Dell XPS 15 is really great is that it comes with the best processor and comes with stunning graphics. It offers a 15.6-inch 3,840×2,160 touch display. A 2.6GHz Intel Core i7-6700HQ. As for graphics it uses one of the best which is a 2GB Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M. And it runs on Windows 10 Home (64-bit).

Well in my opinion you are only going to be getting this if you are avid in watching videos. For example watching youtube, twitch, netflix. If you want to get this for gaming I would not recommend it as there are many much better options.
